Double murder suspect under investigation for rape

Double murder suspect Anders Eklund has been reported to the police for a rape he is alleged to have committed eight years ago.



A woman has claimed that Eklund raped her repeatedly over a two-day period in an apartment in Ängelholm in southern Sweden, Expressen reports. Eklund is reported to have had an accomplice, but police were not aware of the identity of the second person.

Police told Expressen they were still in the early stages of the investigation and had not yet questioned Eklund about the allegations.

Anders Eklund has admitted to the murders of Engla Juncosa Höglund and Pernilla Hellgren. He is currently undergoing a psychological evaluation at Huddinge hospital as part of the investigation into the murders.

Police investigator Mats Nygårds from Dalarna expects the evaluation to take "another few weeks".
